The force-free way
- We look at your dog’s behaviour, their learning history, genetics, environment, health and emotions to find the best way to help them.
- We work closely with veterinarians, veterinary behaviorists and other animal specialists to ensure your dog is getting the care that’s best for their individual needs.
- Through building coping mechanisms, providing safe environments and lots of love, we can help your dog live their life without all the stress.
- We’ll work together to create a plan which supports your dog’s behavioural health.
The quick-fix way
- The behaviours we see as funny or cute are actually very real signals of stress and fear.
- This can lead to a dog distrusting and fearing the person who, ideally, should be the person they feel the safest around.
- We all want a quick fix when it comes to training, but experience has taught me that that’s just not how things work.
- Change takes time and behavioural modification isn’t a “one size fits all” type of training.
Dog trainer and behaviour consultant
From a young age I have been very interested and empathetic toward animals. I wanted to know why they behave the way they do and how they process the world around them.
My experience began with my first family dog, a Boxer. He would often act aggressive toward people and other dogs. I tried trainers and obedience classes but nothing seemed to improve his temperament. The approach seemed ineffective, so I had to look for a different way that went beyond "sit" and "stay".
Through this work I began to unravel the complex social structures inherent in canines and how their emotions influenced their worldview. Not only did my perspective change, but so did my Boxer's, and it became clear that this was a skill I wanted to grow in order to help others achieve the best relationship possible with their dogs.

I'm so glad we found Lea for my 4 year old cockapoo, Chewie, who is struggling with separation anxiety since moving to a new home. Lea was able to help me navigate with what needed adjustments within our training indoors/outdoors & household setup. After an hour of training, Chewie fell asleep like a baby. We will continue training chewie with Lea!
Lea was great. We had a virtual consult to help us with some behavioural issues we wanted to work on with our puppy. Lea was very knowledgeable and gave us some techniques to start practicing. Even though it was a virtual appointment, we were able to practice the techniques with our pup so that Lea could give us feedback. I had a million questions and Lea answered them all. The one on one time was really great. Lea knows how dogs work! Iād highly recommend if you are looking for some positive, helpful tips for you and your dog.
Lea has been amazing asset to have on our journey bringing a new puppy into our lives with an older dog. She is so encouraging and has so many tip and tricks that made our transition easy. She was able to help our older dog respond to our new puppy in a positive way instead of a stressful way. She is so willing to keep in contact if we have any questions or concerns. We are able to send her videos of interactions before our appointments if we have questions on so she can keep us on a good positive path. Her methods are easy, we are able to use them in our everyday lives. Her love for animals and her kind personality makes her so easy to work with. We have used her for our older dog with aggression issues all the way to training a puppy.
I first contacted Lea in 2017 to get some help with my German Shepard as he was constantly barking and jumping at people. Lea was fantastic from day one and has helped my pup out so much. I've since gotten another dog and a cat with very different issues and she helped me with the introduction and working through their unique needs. It is clear she has many years of experience with animal training and it shined through in our sessions, as all my animals have different struggles and she knew exactly what to do.
Lea is friendly, thorough, and clear in her instructions when advising how to work with dogs. She understands dogs incredibly well and her insight is invaluable! I highly recommend anyone struggling with their dogs behaviour to reach out to Lea! Cannot recommend enough!

Common Questions
How long are the training sessions?
Each session lasts about one hour.
Where are the sessions held?
Wherever you and your dog feel the most comfortable! We normally recommend starting in a home environment (if possible) so your dog is relaxed and can work on the training with no outside distractions.
Do you charge extra for more than one dog in the home?
Nope! The price includes as many dogs as you have in your home. You will not be charged extra for extra dogs.
How old should my puppy be before we start training?
We normally recommend that puppies be at least 10 weeks old or older before starting the training. This is because puppies younger than this tend to be just settling into their new homes so we don't want to add any extra stress to their transition.
Should I put the other animals in the home away during the training session?
Your other fur babies are more than welcome to join us during the assessment part of the training session! However, once we start working on different training techniques, we might ask your other pets to go into a bedroom (or somewhere else they feel comfortable) for a few minutes so there is no competition for treats!
How can I pay?
We always take payment at the end of the first session so you can decide then if you would like to do one at a time or a package of three. We accept cash, cheque, etransfer or credit card as forms of payment.
